Our masterplanning commissions emerged from our previous work on Stratford City which transformed a former railway land and polluted area of brownfield land in East London into the location for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
At the time it was the largest ever planning application in London comprising the largest urban retail centre in Europe, a major new employment district and transportation interchange with new public open spaces and new mixed tenure residential neighbourhoods.
Chris was responsible for the design and Planning in Zone 1, the retail district for Westfield, and Phil for Zone 3-6 which became known as the Athletes Village.
We have subsequently executed urban design work for Westfield upon four distinct areas within Stratford City.
