Client: Westfield
Location: LLDC Stratford City
Project Scope: Urban Design
Project Status: Feasibility

We have completed the feasibility for a large plot within Stratford City used as a media hub during the 2012 Olympic Games.

The approved building height and parameters from the original Stratford City Outline masterplan dissect the site, and with a retail podium block already constructed, the difficulty of now creating a legible entrance and access arrangement for a substantial amount of commercial space was the design challenge.

Our brief was an urban deign exercise to enable phased development totalling circa 800,000 square feet of commercial space while the retail podium continued to operate.

The solution was to provide a civic scale entrance plaza to the south of the plot.

The outline design conforms to the typical office BCO and BS Standards in terms of efficiencies and ratios, floor plate heights and depths, to establish a commercial, pragmatic client brief and to enable future architectural commissioning.

As part of the Feasibility we demonstrated alternative interiors for the office volumes.
