Chris Sutton held responsibility for the design and gaining planning approval of this project for Derwent London to replace the original fire damaged building.
Massing, townscape and right of light studies created a cascade of set backs resulting in the provision of west facing roof terraces on several floor levels providing landscaped amenity space.
Balancing the desire to provide occupants a maximised outlook with the demand for solar control and the appearance of solidity necessary due to the adjacency with the Bayswater Conservation Area creates a continuous limestone clad facade, varied as a consequence of polar orientation.
